Mission
The Coalition for Cultural Compassion’s mission is to bring focus to marginalized and vulnerable groups and challenge systems of oppression through the redistribution of resources and orchestration of inclusive events within the Charlotte community.
About
The Coalition for Cultural Compassion (The CCC) is a Charlotte-area 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to addressing systemic inequities through resource redistribution, community engagement, and cross-cultural education. At the heart of its mission is Compassion Closet, a completely free program serving families throughout the Charlotte area, particularly immigrant and asylum-seeking families as well as economically marginalized families in the broader community. The program provides essential resources, including gently used clothing, shoes, and small household goods, along with new diapers and hygiene products. With no eligibility requirements, bilingual applications, and free delivery, Compassion Closet works to eliminate barriers to accessing basic necessities. More than simply distributing goods, Compassion Closet challenges traditional models of charity by prioritizing client agency, choice, and dignity. By allowing families to identify and communicate their own needs, CCC redistributes resources in ways that address systemic inequities and foster a more inclusive and compassionate community.
